On Thursday, January 26, the Etihad Rail passenger service embarked on its first trip, bridging the gap between Abu Dhabi and Al Dhannah. Dr Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Managing Director and Group CEO of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), underscored the broader significance of the Etihad Rail project. While ADNOC's staff and contractors are the first to experience its capabilities, the future holds the promise of a comprehensive passenger service that connects 11 cities and regions within the UAE.

Seamless Connectivity: A Network of 11 Cities

Upon completion, the Etihad Rail passenger train will seamlessly connect 11 cities and regions, fostering unprecedented connectivity across the UAE. The route spans from Al Sila to Fujairah, encompassing key locations such as Al Ruwais, Al Mirfa, Dubai, Sharjah, Al Dhaid, and, of course, Abu Dhabi. The prospect of traversing from Abu Dhabi to Dubai and from Dubai to Fujairah in just 50 minutes heralds a new era of swift and efficient intercity travel.
